Xbox live, formulated and run by the Microsoft organization is an on line multiplayer gaming platform and digital media delivery service. It was created in 2002 for the Xbox and was made available for the Xbox 360 when it came out in 2005.Most of the features of the system are available on computers run by windows by the name of Games for Windows – Live. With Live anywhere, Microsoft is planning to take on the scene to mobile phones.
The most prominent feature of the Xbox live is Windows Live Messenger which allows the users connect and send messages across. It runs on the Xbox, mobiles and PCs with windows or Macintosh platform. You can chat with up to 6 people simutaneously.Also what you can do is voice and video chat. And most important is that these things can be done while playing games, watching movies or listening to music. Windows Live Messenger is now available to users of age 13 and above.
Xbox live gold membership comes at an annual price of $ 39.99 .It is the only online platform which charges its users for multiplayer gaming. Also available is a silver membership but it does not allow video chat or movies for download .After taking the membership you are entitled to a hoards of features.
You can buy games on line, watch exclusive trailers or even try the games before buying. Some features are only for the gold membership holders. With an of course mention of the online multiplayer gaming they also have access to exclusive gaming content .They can download  new levels, add new characters  or buy new weapons  for their existing games.
It provides you an option to save the game disk in your Xbox 360 hard disk which greatly reduces loading time and is also less noisy.
What’s the most interesting is that players can create their online avatars. You can custom make your look by modifying facial features, body structure, hair and clothes with the help of frequently updating clothes line.
