Xbox has been the product that has helped Microsoft establishes itself in the gaming console industry. It is an industry that Microsoft has shown great interest in. the other company that has established itself in this is Sony with its play station gaming consoles. There has been a healthy competition between these two companies in this gaming industry. Both have been doing a lot of RD and have been adding new features to their products.
The Xbox that has been in the market is Xbox 360 and the play station is ps3.microsoft has almost completed its project of Xbox 720 a more powerful and entertaining gaming console. Sony too is working on ps4.xbox has various features for its users. It has Xbox live for playing online with other players. Then it has Xbox video store for getting high definition videos for the users. Let’s look at how the main products of these companies’ xbox360 and ps3 fare up against each other. Both the products are backward compatible.
Both Xbox 360 and ps3 have very high resolution of about 1080p.the storage capacity of Xbox is lower than the ps3.while ps3 scores on the various ways in which other devices can be connected to it xbox360 scores on the networking capability. Both the products are very famous because neither of them have a clear edge over the other. They are also priced similarly. It is felt that Microsoft would be able to lead the battle once it releases Xbox 720 which is a futuristic gaming console.

There are widespread speculations and rumors in the market about the release date of Microsoft’s new Xbox 720.Internet is filled with people guessing on the date of its launch. The most accepted version is that the release date could be around 2012 to 2013.Some even say that the console has already been developed and the Microsoft is waiting for the right time. About that Robbie Bach, the Leader of Amusement and Devices Distribution at the Microsoft, said, “We started to think about the forthcoming era before shipping the 360 Xbox ″. So while he confirmed that the work on it has already started he did not reveal the extent of the work done.
Peter Moore, Ex boss of Interactive Entertainment Division at Microsoft has commented that the release date would depend on the CPU’s which will be in use around 2012-2013.He emphasized that it is very necessary that most people can sync their hardware with the console .That means the release date could further extend if the right hardware for the console will not be in popular use .As buying a altogether new configuration just for the Xbox 720 could affect its sale and popularity.
2012 would be 6 years since the very popular Xbox 360 released so it will just be right for the release of the new console. Also Microsoft wants to be the first one to launch the next generation of gaming consoles. They were the first when they released Xbox360 and they want to continue the trend of leading Sony and Nintendo now too. As Xbox 360 was launched first people were quite interested in it for the sake of curiosity and quickly became familiar with its hardware and functioning .Microsoft wants the same for its new Xbox too.
But on 2009 May Wed bush Morgan the analyst of the Michael claimed: “We are not expecting the ‘next’ era to start before the 2013, if at all. So let’s see when the official confirmation comes from Microsoft itself .Till then just hold your breath.
